Some complication may occur as with any serious surgery.  Some common problems may be capsular contraction, this is where the scar or capsule around the implant begins to tighten.  The breast may feel hard when this squeezing of the soft implant occurs.  This can be treated by either removal or “scoring’ of the scar tissue.  Or perhaps removal and replacement of the implant.  Excessive bleeding, after the operation, may cause some swelling and pain.  Occasionally you may develop an infection around the implant.  Reports have been submitted of nipples becoming over-sensitive, under-sensitive or even numb.  Occasionally breast implants may even leak or even worse, break.  Wrinkles are an unwanted side effect of badly positioned implants and may be noticed when bending over or laying on the side.
